Nathan Tella reflects on Bayer Leverkusen’s Bundesliga title triumph

Nigeria midfielder Nathan Tella has described winning the league title with Bayer Leverkusen as the best moment of his life.
Tella made the move to Bayer Leverkusen from Southampton during the 2023 summer transfer window, following a loan spell at Burnley under Vincent Kompany.
Since joining Bayer Leverkusen, the Arsenal academy graduate has significantly increased his influence, contributing five goals and two assists in 21 Bundesliga appearances.
Reflecting on the achievement, the 24-year-old expressed his joy at becoming a champion and emphasized the importance of remaining focused for the upcoming games.
“Glory be to God. What a team! It’s very special,” Tella said of the title triumph.
“I’ve always said trophies aren’t guaranteed, and the fact that I’ve had the opportunity to join this club in my first season, with an incredibly talented group of players and an unbelievable coaching staff, and win something in the first attempt is special.
“It’s an important moment in the history of the club,” he added.
