“Never seen anything like this” — Osimhen delighted by young mascot’s mask replica

By Monsurah Olatunji

Victor Osimhen was left touched by a heartwarming moment before Galatasaray’s 4-2 win over Sivasspor, as a young fan stole the spotlight by sporting a mini version of his iconic protective mask.

The Super Eagles striker, who scored twice in the match to set a new personal best with 33 goals in a season, was surrounded by a group of enthusiastic mascots before the game.

However, one tiny fan particularly caught his eye — a young girl wearing a pint-sized replica of the mask Osimhen wears on the field, a symbol of his warrior-like mentality.

The delightful pre-match moment, brimming with joy and admiration, showcased the 26-year-old’s growing status as a beloved figure at Galatasaray.

His presence and success on the pitch have endeared him to the club’s passionate supporters, and the viral moment highlighted his connection with the fans.

Addressing the heartwarming incident after the match, Osimhen said, “It’s honestly a great feeling.

“I thank God for the inspiration and those masks. I had never seen anything like this until I came to Galatasaray. I will continue to do this. I want to continue the way they know me. This makes me very happy.”

The moment was celebrated widely online, with one fan sharing their thoughts: “He brings love to anything he touches.”

With his record-breaking form on the pitch and his infectious connection with fans off it, Osimhen’s time at Galatasaray continues to create memorable moments.
