NFF Congress Approves Statutes Amendments, Appoints Electoral Committee Members

The General Assembly of the Nigeria Football Federation has unanimously approved amendments to the NFF Statutes (March 2026 Edition), the NFF Electoral Code and the Standing Orders of the General Assembly.

The resolutions were passed during the Federation’s Congress following proposals presented by the NFF Executive Committee.

Congress also approved the appointment of 12 persons to serve on the NFF Electoral Committee and the NFF Electoral Appeals Committee, based on nominations submitted by leaders of the six geopolitical zones.

The approved nominees are Barrister Matthew Burkala, SAN, and Mr Emmanuel Dada Obafemi from the North Central; Alhaji Babagoni Grema and Barrister Benjamin Sak from the North East; Bature Musa and Professor Abdulmalik Awwal from the North West; Hon. Justice C. J. Aneke and Arinze Azubuike Anughere, Esq., from the South East; Hon. (Dr) Akogun Olugbenga Omole and Abayomi Akin Omoyimi, Esq., from the South West; and Ayibaye Peter Great Temedie, Esq., alongside Ayi Ekpo Ukpayam from the South South.

The newly appointed persons will be inaugurated into the two committees in Abuja on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, after which members will choose their chairmen.

In line with the NFF Electoral Code, five persons will serve as full members of the Electoral Committee, with two others acting as alternates. For the Electoral Appeals Committee, three persons will serve as full members, while two others will serve as alternates.

The decisions form part of preparations for the Federation’s electoral processes, with the approved amendments and appointments expected to guide subsequent activities.
