NFF Executive Committee Mandates Seamless Super Eagles Preparations Ahead of AFCON 2025

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Executive Committee has given its full backing to the senior men’s national team’s preparations for the upcoming 35th Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to take place in Morocco from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026.

In its meeting held on Thursday at the NFF Secretariat in Abuja, the Committee thoroughly reviewed the team’s readiness for the continental showpiece and directed the Federation’s Secretariat to ensure a smooth and hitch-free buildup for the three-time African champions.

The NFF emphasised the importance of meticulous planning, logistics, and support systems as Nigeria aims for a strong performance in Morocco.

Beyond administrative readiness, the Committee also addressed the psychological state of the squad, urging the players to put behind them the disappointment of the recent FIFA World Cup playoff exit.

It encouraged the team to seize the opportunity in Morocco to “write a new story” about their quality, resilience, and ambitions on the African stage.

According to the communiqué issued after the meeting, the NFF leadership reaffirmed its confidence in the players and technical crew, stressing that the upcoming AFCON presents the perfect platform for redemption and renewed national pride.

With renewed focus, improved organisation, and a mandate for excellence, the Super Eagles now shift their attention fully to their quest for a fourth continental title.
