NFF President Gusau explains lingering indebtedness to various national teams

President of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau has attributed lack of sponsors to why the federation continue to owe match bonuses to various national team players.
In the Federation’s peace meeting with the Federal House of Representative’s Committee on Sports on Tuesday, the NFF President reacted to all the issues regarding match bonuses would be a thing of the past anytime soon.
Gusau who admitted to the federation owing backlog of bonuses to both Super Eagles and Falcons, appealed for patience from the players just as he solicited continued support from relevant stakeholders.
“I want to assure Nigerians that very soon they will see a lot of changes in the development of football so that a lot of sponsors will come back to us,” the president admitted.
“All these issues of not paying match bonuses and the rest of it is because of sponsorship. By the grace of God, everything will be resolved and they (the committee) have agreed to work with us to see that we get to that destination.”
