NFF President Ibrahim Gusau to attend Nigeria National League Awards Ceremony

President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau (MON), is expected to attend the Nigeria National League (NNL) Awards ceremony today in Abuja.
The event will celebrate standout performances from players, coaches, referees, and clubs during the months of April and May 2025.
Organised by the NNL, the ceremony is aimed at promoting professionalism, rewarding excellence, and encouraging grassroots development across Nigeria’s second-tier football division.
Among those being recognised are top goal scorers, best goalkeepers, coaches, referees, and clubs noted for exemplary conduct on and off the pitch.
Notable recipients include players from Edel FC, Warri Wolves, Inter Lagos, and Solution FC, with Sokoto United earning recognition for fair play across both months.
Organisers have described the event as a key step in strengthening collaboration between football stakeholders and government institutions, while reinforcing the league’s commitment to improving standards within Nigerian football.
The awards ceremony is expected to draw league officials, club representatives, and prominent figures within the football community.
Highest Goal Scorer: Gugut Chindi (Edel FC) – 3 goals in 4 matches, 1 Man of the Match award
Best Goalkeeper: Efevwhera Joke (Warri Wolves FC) – No goals conceded in 3 matches
Best Coach: Napoleon Ahuma (Warri Wolves FC) – 3 wins, including an away victory
Best Behaved Team: Sokoto United FC – Only two cautions in three matches
Most Valuable Player: Valentine Ugwu (Solution FC) – Man of the Match on Match Days 12 & 14
Goal of the Month: Shamasu Mohammed – Scored in Match No. 32 (Match Day 11)
Best Referee: Daniel Amadu (Kaduna Referee Council) – Noted for composure in Sokoto United vs. Wikki Tourist (Match Day 8)
