NFF sets AFCON 2025 final target for Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle

President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Gusau, has revealed the performance target set for Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
Speaking during an interview on Eagles FM Radio, Gusau confirmed that the Federation has tasked the France-born tactician with guiding Nigeria to the final of the tournament.
“The mandate the NFF has given Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle is for him to reach the final of the AFCON,” Gusau stated.
He added that Chelle has embraced the responsibility and expressed confidence in his ability to meet the Federation’s expectations.
“We are going to reach the final in Morocco, by the grace of God,” Gusau said.
Nigeria will approach the 2025 AFCON as one of the leading contenders, with expectations heightened by the Super Eagles’ recent strong performances on the continental stage.
The three-time African champions will be aiming to lift a fourth AFCON title when the tournament kicks off in Morocco, as they seek to reaffirm their status among Africa’s football elite.
