Niger Tornadoes det to Face Like-Minds FC in Unity Preseason Tournament final

Nigeria Premier Football League side Niger Tornadoes of Minna will take on Nigeria League Oone side Like-Minds FC of Gwagwalada, Abuja, in the final of the 2024 Unity Preseason Tournament, scheduled to take place at the Area 3 playing pitch in Garki, Abuja.
To secure their spot in the final, Like-Minds FC defeated non-league team 2K-19 in the semi-finals with a score of 3-2.
Tochukwu Adibe and Edvardo scored two first-half goals for the Gwagwalada squad, while Solomon Abraham pulled one back for 2K-19 at the start of the second half. Lucky Ojukwu extended Like-Minds’ lead with a third goal before Ofezie ThankGod added a second for 2K-19.
In the other semi-final, an all-NPFL clash saw Niger Tornadoes of Minna and Nasarawa United draw 1-1. Michael Okenwa opened the scoring for Niger Tornadoes in the 16th minute, but Terdoo Shimagande equalized for Nasarawa United in the 39th minute.
The match proceeded to a penalty shootout, where Niger Tornadoes successfully converted all three of their penalties, while Nasarawa United missed all three.
The final match will also feature a special ceremony where Barrister Isaac Danladi, the Permanent Secretary of the Nasarawa State Sports Ministry, will be honored with the title of Patron of the Tournament.
