Nigeria, Benin Republic To Co-host 2025 AFCON

In response to a number of studies, Nigeria and Benin Republic have proven curiosity in co-hosting the African Nations Cup in 2025.

President of the Nigeria Soccer Federation (NFF) Amaju Pinnick said that the Confederation of African Soccer is prone to withdraw the internet hosting proper of the AFCON 2025 from Guinea.
Pinnick additional said that Nigeria and Benin are engaged on a joint bid to host the biennial competitors.
“We’re placing a bid collectively for a co-hosting of the event with the Benin Republic,” Pinnick informed journalists in Lagos on Tuesday.
“The Minister of Sports activities has given his endorsement on the bidding.
“It’s excessive time Nigeria hosted a world event as a result of there are various benefits connected to internet hosting of such competitions.
There are a lot of nations bidding for the competitors; we’re assured of getting the nod from CAF.
“We’re working with the ministry of sports activities to make sure that Nigeria will get the internet hosting proper.”
It will be recalled that Nigeria co-hosted the AFCON with Ghana in 2000.
