By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

After a season with the French side, FC Nantes, Nigeria defender Maureen Umeugochukwu has returned to another French side, US Saint-Malo ahead of the 2024/2025 season.

The former youth international played for FC Nantes in the French second-tier league last season and was part of the Nantes side that gained promotion to the country’s top-flight.

The move will marks the Nigerian second stint with US Saint-Malo after 21 league games with the team during the 2022/2023 season.

Before moving to France, Umeugochukwu played for the Turkish top-flight side, Adana Idmanyurd during the 2021/2022 season. The 22-year-old Lagos-born defender is expected to play a crucial role at Saint Mall next season.
