By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Nigeria’s boys’ and girls’ teams have learned their group-stage opponents for the 4th edition of the African School Football Championship – WAFU-B, following the official draw held on Friday in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.

In the boys’ category, Nigeria will compete in Group B, where they are drawn alongside Cote d’Ivoire and Benin Republic.

For the girls’ team, Nigeria will battle in Group A, facing Burkina Faso and hosts Cote d’Ivoire in what promises to be a competitive pool.

This year’s WAFU-B tournament is scheduled to run from December 1 to 4, 2025, in Burkina Faso.

The regional championship also serves as the qualifying event for the next African School Football Championship, adding greater significance to the competition as teams vie for continental spots.
