Nigeria-eligible Rinsola Babajide opens goal account for UDG Tenerife against Real Madrid

Nigeria-eligible forward, Rinsola Babajide scored her first competitive goal for UDG Tenerife during her team’s 2-1 loss to Real Madrid in the Spanish Liga F encounter on Sunday.
Denmark forward, Signe Bruun broke the deadlock for the visitors in the 34th minute at the Estadio Heliodoro Rodriguez Lopez, Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
Spanish midfielder, Maite Oroz doubled the lead for the capital club in the 88th minute from Naomie Feller’s assist.
Babajide pulled a goal back for the host in the additional minutes of the second half but the strike could not prevent Real Madrid from inflicting UDG Tenerife with their first loss of the campaign.
She came in for Nigerian forward, Gift Monday in the 46th minute.
Another Nigerian forward who also plies her trade for UDG Tenerife, Esther Okoronkwo replaced Belgian midfielder Jassina Blom in the 46th minute and was booked for a poor challenge in the 65th minute.
Despite the loss, UDG Tenerife occupy the seventh position on the log with three points after two games.
They will visit Toni Payne’s Sevilla FC in their next league game on October 4, 2023.
