Nigeria forward Anam Imo provides crucial assist as Pitea stun Rosengard

For the fourth time in the 2023 Swedish Dammalsvenskan, Nigeria’s senior women’s national team forward, Anam Imo bagged an assist to help Pitea to a 1-0 win over Rosengård on Friday.
The solitary goal of the encounter came in the 66th minute after a goalless first half as Imo set up Tuva Skoog who converted the winning goal at the LF Arena, Pitea to the delight of the home fans.
She played a full 90 minutes for her side in an impressive encounter. With 11 goals and four assists to her name this season, Imo is leading Pitea’s charge for a spot in the UEFA Women’s Champions League for next season.
Her compatriot, Faith Michael also played the full duration of the game for the host.
Halimatu Ayinde who was impressive for Super Falcons at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup where the team reached the Round of 16 wasn’t dressed for the game as she recovers from injury picked against England.
Pitea occupy the fourth position on the league table with 40 points from 18 games. They will next face Kristiansand in an away game on September 10, 2023.
