The manager of KAA Gent, Hein Vanzehebrouk has confirmed that Gift Orban is the best young striker of the Belgium Jupiler League.
The Nigeria forward has been one of the brightest youngsters so far this season with 15 goals in 17 games across all competitions.
The 20-year-old joined Gent from Norwegian club Stabæk Fotball for a transfer fee worth €3.30 million in January 2023 and the manager made the announcement on Friday afternoon.
“Gift has been compared to Lamkel Ze in the media but he is. The comparison is out of the question,” Vanzehebrouk told the club media.
“He is the best young striker, I have ever worked work with. I’ve not seen a center forward this good at his age.
“He still needs some work to be done and he must respect everyone. But Gift is a good and proper striker.”
Gent is just two points clear at the top as they travel to face second-placed Standard Liege this week.
