Nigeria National League fixes October 28 as 2023/2024 kickoff date

The board of Nigeria National League, NNL have announced October 28, 2023 as the commencement date for the 2023/2024 league season.
This was part of the resolutions reached at the league’s Annual General Meeting, AGM held in Jos, Plateau State on Friday.
The meeting also agreed on the format for the league which will see both Northern and Southern Conferences split into two groups each just as it picked Dakkada vs 1472 FC as the star match of the opening week.
In a communique issued after the meeting, it revealed that a prize money of #5million donated by Dekaizen Worldwide Ltd, an insurance firm will be given to the eventual winners of the league.
It was also agreed that only stadia that meets the required NNL stadium facilities criteria, should be approved for the league season.
“However, cash prices for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th positions shall be worked out base on availability of funds before the close of the season.
The stakeholders passed a vote of explicit confidence on the board of the NNL led by George Aluo just as they praised the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), and the entire NFF board for their support and continuous guidance.
“It officially confirmed the promotion of Heartland FC, Kano Pillars, Sporting Lagos and Katsina Utd FC to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
“It also confirmed the relegation of Kogi United, FWC Champions FC of Abuja, Zamfara United, Green Berets FC of Zaria, ABS FC of Ilorin and Police Machine FHQ FC of Gombe.
Others are Go Round FC of Omoku, FC Ebedei of Shagamu , Joy Comts FC of Lagos, Ibom Youths FC of Ikot Ekpene, Edel FC of Awka and Henserd FC of Yanagoa.
