Nigeria star Paul Onuachu set to leave Southampton for Turkey

By Monsurah Olatunji
Paul Onuachu is set to join Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor on a permanent transfer.
The 29-year-old joined Southampton for £18m from Jupiler Pro League side KRC Genk in January after bagging 16 goals from 19 games, and a total of 85 goals in 134 appearances in his four-year stay in Belgium.
However, the Super Eagles star failed to find the net in 11 league appearances for the Saints before they suffered relegation to the Championship at the end of the season.
In the current season, Onuachu has yet to make an appearance for the Saints. He has reportedly agreed to join the Turkish Super Lig 2021/22 champions on a four-year contract.
Trabzonspor are however still in lock with the Championship side, Southampton to sort out the deal.
The striker was close to joining Ligue 1 side, Metz, last Friday but the move fell through.
