By Monsurah Olatunji

Napoli man Victor Osimhen scored a hattrick to finish the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers as the top scorer with 10 goals in six games.

Nigeria recorded a comfortable 6-0 victory against the Parrots of Sao Tome and Principe on Sunday, September 10, 2023.

With his hat trick against São Tomé and Príncipe means he is now the country’s fourth all-time goal scorer with 20 goals.

Osimhen’s eyes are now set on breaking the Super Eagles’ all-time highest goalscorer record set by late Rashidi Yekini in the 90s.

The legendary striker scored 37 goals in 67 games for Nigeria before he retired in 1998.

Reacting to this feat the 24-year-old took to his official social media platforms to celebrate his three goals.

He posted pictures from the game along with a Nigerian flag, an Eagle, and three balls signaling his hat-trick.
