Nigeria superstar Asisat Oshoala wraps up pre-season with Barcelona in style

Nigeria international Asisat Oshoala has wrapped up a pre-season tour with Barcelona as a substitute in their last game against UNAL at the Universitario de Monterrey stadium in front of 39,500 people.

Following her return from the World Cup where she helped Nigeria defeat co-hosts Australia, Oshoala was in action as Barcelona defeated Juventus to win the Gamper trophy.

The Nigeria international then provided an assist as they recorded a 2-0 victory against Club America.

The 28-year-old forward has now completed the Mexican tour pre-season tour with a Barcelona victory but with no goal to her name.

Two-time Ballon d’Or winner Alexia Putellas provided the assist for the spectacular finish by Nuevo León Claudia Pina who scored the lone goal in the match early in the 18th minute.

Oshoala was introduced in the 63rd minute and had a chance to score the second for Barcelona just three minutes after coming off the bench but her shot crashed into Ceci Santiago.

The five-time Africa Player of the Year tried once again to feint Santiago in a one-on-one in the 78th minute but the goalkeeper was up to the task.

Following the conclusion of the tour of Mexico, Oshoala will now aim to find her scoring prowess as Barcelona  begins the defense of their Primera División Femenina de Fútbol title against Valencia on Sunday.
