Nigeria winger Jesse Sekidika joins Azerbaijan outfit Sabah from Umraniyespor

Azerbaijan side Sabah has strengthened their team with Nigeria winger Jesse Sekidika joined the team from Turkish side Umraniyespor.
The 27-year-old has signed a two-year contract with an option of extension and Sekidika spent most of his club career with Turkish teams before joining Sabah.
During Sekidika’s career, he played for Serbian side Napredak (2015-2018), Turkish team Eskişehirspor (2018-2020), Galatasaray (2020-2021), Konyaspor (2021), Eyüpspor (2022), Umraniyespor (2023) and played in the Belgian clubs Leven (2021).
Jesse will play in Sabah’s jersey number 70. Born in the city of Port Harcourt, Nigeria, Sekidika was first scouted in England while playing as a winger at Leicestershire-based private boarding school Brooke House College.
After impressing there, he trialed at Stoke City at the 2013 Keele Cup and caught the attention of Manchester United scouts who invited him to train at their Carrington training ground.
However, due to the stringent requirement of a British work permit and not having a European Passport, Jesse could not be offered a contract at Stoke City or Manchester United making him move to Portugal.
