Nigeria Women Football League reveals 2022-23 Premiership Best XI of the season

The Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) have revealed the best XI for the NWFL Premiership 2022/2023 season shortly after the prestigious super six in Asaba.
Delta Queens players dominated the star studded team with four players, followed by Bayelsa Queens who contribution three players, Rivers Angels two players, Robo Queens Edo Queens had a player each in the best XI.
Coach Tosan Blankson had a terrific season to set a record of going unbeaten to emerge champions of the NWFL Premiership in style.
Anderlin Mgbeche stood out in goal with her performances in the regular season and the super six which earned her a place at the Super Falconets team to the Wafu B U20 Cup. She’s known for her good saves and most importantly a last minute penalty save in Abuja against Naija Ratels.
Taiwo Afolabi making the list was in testament to her exploits in the season as she commanded the midfield with confidence and was the engine room to the club’s success.
Creative forward, Chinaza Agoh dished out fantastic performances with a brace against former league winners Bayelsa Queens in the final of the super six to signal the end of an 11 years wait for the league glory.
Mercy Omokwo nine goals record made her the defenders nightmare of the season as she went home with the highest goal scorer award.
Finalists, Bayelsa Queens had three players in the best XI as they were led by their skipper and defense marshall Chiamaka Igwe, tricky playmaker Flourish Sabastine and Glory Edet.
Rivers Angels retained their third place position in the league as Akudo Ogbonna and Edafe Mamuzo piloted the defense in the center back roles while Jumoke Alani of Edo Queens and Esther Onyenezide of Robo Queens completes the NWFL Premiership best XI for the 2022/2023 season.
