Nigeria’s Augustine Eguavoen still regrets losing 2022 FIFA World Cup spot to Ghana

Former acting Head Coach of Super Eagles, Augustine Eguavoen is still brooding over Nigeria losing the 2022 FIFA World place to Ghana.
The Super Eagles missed out on ticket to Qatar on away goal rule after playing 1-1 with Black Stars in the second leg play off round in Abuja, with the first leg at the Baba Yara stadium in Ghana had earlier ended without a goal.
Eguavoen, in an interview disclosed that he couldn’t stand watching the ongoing FIFA World Cup, due to the pain of missing out while vowing to assuring to ensure the country compete at the next edition in 2026.
“I failed to take Nigeria to the world tournament, when I had the opportunity to; I was trusted with the responsibility,” he opened to media.
“For this reason, I have only been able to watch very little of the games as it makes me more sad.
“Well, as head of the technical department, I will just have to start planning now and make sure that Nigeria gets to the next.” he assured.
