Nigeria’s foe, Canada name 24-player provisional squad for 2023 Women’s World Cup

Canadian women’s national team has named its provisional squad for this year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The Olympic champions on Thursday unveiled its list of the 24-player squad for their upcoming camp for the World Cup.
Three goalkeepers, seven defenders, six midfielders, and eight forwards made the squad.
Top on the list is the all-time international goal scorer in women’s football history, Christine Sinclair, and the Chelsea duo of Kadeisha Buchanan and Jessie Fleming.
Other notable names in the squad include French-based Ashley Lawrence, American-based Jordyn Huitema, and Nichelle Prince. The list will be cut to 23 players.
At this year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, the North American side will face Australia, the Republic of Ireland, and Nigeria in Group B.
