Nigeria’s Women’s World Cup foes Ireland draw with Morocco

In preparation for next year’s FIFA Women’s World Cup, Super Falcons of Nigeria’s opponent, The Republic of Ireland on Friday played out a 2-2 draw with Morocco.
The first friendly match between both sides since last month’s FIFA Women’s World Cup draw took place at the Marbella Football Centre in Spain.
Salma Amani scored for Morocco in the 29th minute while Anissa Belkasmi also find the back of the net for the Atlas Lionesses in the 56th minute.
The game was played behind closed doors at the Marbella Football Centre. The Republic of Ireland will face co-host, Australia, Nigeria, and Olympic Champions, Canada in Group B of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Morocco on its part will play former World Champions, Germany, Colombia, and Korea Republic in Group H.
Super Falcons of Nigeria is one of seven teams that have qualified for every edition of the FIFA Women’s World Cup since 1991. United States of America (USA), Germany, Brazil, Japan, Norway, and Sweden are the other teams to have achieved a similar feat.
