Nkechi Obi replaces Aisha Falode as Nigeria Women’s Football League chairperson

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has appointed a new board for the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) as replacement for erstwhile chairperson Aisha Falode on Friday.
Renowned marketing expert Nkechi Nneka Obi according to a release by NFF Communications Department will head the Nigeria Women Football League, with Nasarawa Amazons Chairperson Hajiya Hussaina Suleman as vice chairman.
Founder of Kwara State based women’s football side, Abruka Queens, Alhaja Rukayat Lola Alaya, former FIFA referee Hadiza Musa, and Mr. Ayodele Thomas make up the NWFL board.
Delta Queens Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ms Henrietta Ehiobor and Dannaz FC Ladies owner, Mr. Danny Nazzal are also members of the women’s league.
The new board replaced Aisha Falode led leadership after the end of its tenure in September 2022,
The Chief Operating Officer (COO), Modupe Dhabi have been running the league pending the appointment of the new board.
The board alongside that of Nigeria National League (NNL), and Nigeria Nationwide League One (NLO1) boards will be inaugurated once the President of NFF, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau returns to the country from continental assignments in Morocco and Cote d’Ivoire.
