Nottingham Forest head coach, Steve Cooper has tasked his players to go into their Saturday’s English Premier League clash against champions Manchester City with more ambition of getting decent result.

The Triky Trees will be heading to the Etihad Stadium more refreshed haven had more times to prepare as against City who were involved in the UEFA Champions League in midweek.

Forest lost in the same encounter last season but will be relying on the current scoring form of Nigerian forward Taiwo Awoniyi to face City with more confidence.

The 43-year-old manager did not hide the truth about how difficult to play against Pep Guardiola’s men with their current form and their status on the log.

“You have to go there with ambition, you have to go there with confidence and a mentality to be at your best,” Cooper told the club website.

“There has to be a balance. You have to respect how good they are, but you also have to continue to believe in yourself.

“All I’m doing is recognising the level of Manchester City and what they’ve achieved, the trophies they won last season and the status of Pep Guardiola who is certainly an inspiration to me, but I also go there believing in my team.”
