OFFICIAL: Nottingham Forest trigger one-year extension on Ola Aina’s contract

By Wale Mustapha

Nottingham Forest have activated the one-year extension option on Nigerian defender Ola Aina’s contract, securing his stay at the City Ground until the end of the 2025/26 season.

The club remains interested in negotiating a longer-term deal with the Super Eagles right-back after his impressive 2024/25 campaign.

Aina scored twice and provided one assist in 35 Premier League appearances last season.

Aina joined Forest on a free transfer in 2023 following his departure from Serie A side Torino.

To date, he has made 57 league appearances for the Reds.

Forest’s decision to extend Aina’s contract highlights their confidence in his contribution as they aim to build on last season’s progress.
