Kwara United head coach, Ashifat Suleiman, has credited his team’s resilience, grit, and extra motivation for their hard-fought 2-0 victory over Plateau United in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) fixture on Sunday.
The Harmony Boys triumphed over their North Central rivals at the Kwara State Stadium in Ilorin, with two second-half goals from Emmanuel Ogbole securing a deserved win. The result further strengthens Kwara United’s solid run in the league.
Suleiman, who stood in for Technical Adviser Tunde Sanni, acknowledged that while the match wasn’t easy, the team’s determination to succeed played a key role in overcoming Plateau United.
“It wasn’t really easy, but we were in control for many parts of the match. We are happy with the outcome,” Suleiman said.
“It was down to resilience and our determination to succeed and build on what we’ve been doing so far.”
He also emphasized that while the team is still finding its best form, he is confident that with continued focus, they will improve and win more games as the season progresses.
“We are not there yet, but I believe gradually we will get better and win more games,” he added.
Kwara United will look to extend their positive run when they face Insurance FC in Benin on Sunday.
