Katsina United head coach Azeez Audu has promised a transformed and more competitive team next season, assuring fans that the club will aim higher in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Audu, who took charge of the Chanji Boys midway through the recently concluded campaign, played a key role in steering the club away from relegation.
Katsina United finished 15th on the table with a crucial final-day victory over Kwara United at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium.
Speaking after the season-ending win, Audu expressed gratitude to the fans for their unwavering support during the difficult stretches of the season and pledged to correct the team’s shortcomings.
“Next season, we will fight for the league because I am coming back with something different,” Audu said.
“It’s time to correct our mistakes ahead of the new season. Thanks to our electrifying fans for standing with us throughout the season.”
The coach’s comments signal an ambitious new phase for Katsina United, who will now focus on rebuilding and strengthening the squad during the off-season with hopes of challenging for honors in the 2024/25 NPFL campaign.
