NPFL: Barau FC to host 2025/26 home matches at Sani Abacha Stadium

By Wale Mustapha

Newly promoted Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Barau FC, has announced the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano as its temporary home ground for the 2025/26 season.

The club’s management confirmed the decision in an official statement released on Saturday, citing ongoing renovations at their original ground, the Dambatta Stadium.

Barau FC secured promotion to the NPFL from the Nigeria National League (NNL) last season and will be making their top-flight debut this year.

Their first-ever NPFL match will be a home fixture against former champions Enyimba FC when the season kicks off on August 22.

In preparation for the new campaign, the club recently appointed seasoned tactician Ladan Bosso as technical adviser.
