NPFL: Doma United pip Kano Pillars to regain top position

Matchday 13 of the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season gets underway with Doma United securing a 1-0 win against Kano Pillars at the Pantami Stadium, Gombe, on Saturday.

Emmanuel Ekpeyong’s 11th-minute goal settled the contest.

Doma United had the chance to double the lead from the penalty spot in the 21st minute but Emmanuel Jesam missed the spot kick.

Kano Pillars’ Fahad Usman who received a yellow card in the 21st minute was sent off for his second bookable offence in the 45th minute.

The host held on to the slim win which took them top of the table with 25 points, two points ahead of Remo Stars which have an outstanding match to play on Sunday.

Pillars occupy the fifth position with 19 points after 13 games.

Eight more games will be held on Sunday as the Matchday 13 of the league continues.

All eyes will be in Aba as Enyimba hosts Abia Warriors in the Aba derby.
