NPFL: Doma United’s Akinade Onigbinde talks up tactics after Kano Pillars win

By Saheed Afolabi
Doma United head coach, Akinade Onigbinde has revealed the tactics he used in defeating Kano Pillars on Sunday.
The Savannah Tigers held Pillars by the jugular by having an edge over them with a slim win following the barren draw against Kwara United in Ilorin.
Onigbinde said they had the intention of winning the game against the Masu Gida, warning his defenders to be disciplined and wary of any threats, while admitting Kano Pillars were a difficult nut to crack.
“We came back from Ilorin, where we played goalless with Kwara United, and our intention was to make sure we had the three points because, as you can see, there was fatigue in the players,” Onigbinde told the Press.
“We know that Kano Pillars is a very good team; they play very good football, and we know they can break into your defence at any time, so thats why I told my defenders to be tactically disciplined in the defence line.”
The win against Pillars leaves Doma United to the second spot on the NPFL table with 25 points from 13 games.
The Savannah Tigers will lock horns with Lobi Stars at the refurbished Lafia township stadium on December 24.
