NPFL: Edith Agoye dreams positive start with Sunshine Stars at Doma United

Sunshine Stars’ head coach Edith Agoye is not getting carried away by the gulf in terms of class and pedigree between his side and newly promoted side Doma United ahead of Sunday’s opening clash in Gombe.
The Owena Whales will take on the newly promoted side at the Pantami Stadium, Gombe in their opening match of the 2022/23 Nigeria Professional Football League season and the tactician seek a positive start to their campaign.
“Sunshine Stars is one of the biggest football clubs in Nigeria as we all know, but It won’t be an easy game against Doma United.,” Agoye told media.
” Doma is a team that just got promoted to the premier league, so they will be well-motivated. But we are here for a purpose. We will be very competitive tomorrow (today) and fight for everything to get the three maximum points.”
Despite losing key players to the transfer market, the Akure-based side managed to retaining servies of top stars like  Temitope Vincent, Mustapha Lawal, Azeez Ajagbe, Michael Olalusi, Ejike Uzoechi, Mutiu Dauda, Sunday Abe, Jide Jimoh, Samson Olasupo, David Ariyo, Promise Awosanmi, Kehinde Adeyemi and Habib Yakub.
Ahead of Doma showdowm, the gaffer is confident his side’s revamping will yield positive result in the new season.
“It’s very clear that major players left at the end of last season, but we have been able to do a very good job in bringing in new players, and the time we were afforded we have put it to a very good use and we are confident that we have a team on the ground now that can compete and get results for Sunshine Stars,” he concluded.
