NPFL: Edo Sports Commission suspends Bendel Insurance Head Coach Greg Ikhenoba

The Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Amadin Desmond Enabulele, has approved the suspension of Bendel Insurance Football Club Head Coach, Greg Ikhenoba, with effect from Monday, October 6, 2025.

The decision follows the team’s disappointing run in the ongoing Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, capped by a 1-0 home defeat to Nasarawa United on Matchday Seven at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium on Saturday.

In the interim, the Sports Commission Chairman has appointed Coach Baldwin Bazuaye (MON) to oversee the technical crew of the Benin-based side until further notice.

Bendel Insurance, one of Nigeria’s storied clubs, will be looking to turn their fortunes around under new temporary leadership as they seek to climb up the NPFL standings.
