NPFL: Enyimba confirm departure of 22 players ahead of new season

Enyimba International Football Club has announced the departure of 22 players as part of a major squad restructuring ahead of the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

In a statement, the People’s Elephant thanked the outgoing players for their commitment and contributions to the club, while wishing them success in the next stages of their careers.

Players released are Imo Prince Ikemdinachi, Musa Usman Babalolo, Innocent Gabriel, Nelson Michael, Alade Muyiwa Balogun, Nnachi Chidiebere, Chisom Ejio, Junior Lokosa, Fatai Abdullahi, Imo Obot Udo, Umeh Gozie, Olufemi Opeoluwa, Somiari Orinate Alalibo, Chidera Eze, Ukadiike Chiemerie Divine, Augustine Onyemaechi, Gideon Peter, Tobias Orkuma, Leonard Obinna, Brown Ideye, Ani Ozoemena, and Elijah Akanni.

Players loaned out include Obichere Wisdom Odinaka (Kun Khalifat FC), Purpose Ahubaraezemma (Kun Khalifat FC), and Samuel Buah Nuako (Kun Khalifat FC).

Enyimba, who are targeting another strong league campaign, will kick off their NPFL season on August 22 with an away fixture against league newcomers Barau FC.

The Aba giants will then return home to host Niger Tornadoes and Nasarawa United in quick succession as they aim to set the tone for a title challenge.
