Lobi Stars head coach Eugene Agagbe is in cloud nine on Monday night after guiding his side to their first away win of the new Nigeria Premier Football League, (NPFL) season following a 2-1 win at Bayelsa United.
A goal in each half from young wing wizard, Tiza Samuel for Lobi Stars rendered Roberts Mizo’s sixth goal of the season a mere consolation in the final fixture of Matchday Seven of new campaign.
The famous win which is the second to ever recorded in the new season has sent Lobi Stars to the league summit and thevisibly elated Agagbe attributed the victory to hard work and consistency in dedication by the players.
“I need to thank the players for this victory, they stick to the plans and execute it well, when you have players that heed to your instructions, it makes your job easy and that’s what played out today,” he told NigeriaFootball.ng.
“It wasn’t an easy game because we suffered a lot from it but in the end, our resilience, dedication paid off.
“We’ve been getting closer to this (away) win before now, Katsina United and Heartland escaped it narrowly but today, we got it, I return the praises to the players and God almighty.”
Agagbe and his ‘Yes Father Boys’ will be hoping to consolidate on the important win in Yenagoa with a tricky home clash against Sporting Lagos in Lafia at the weekend.
