Technical Adviser of Enugu Rangers, Fidelis Ilechukwu promised the club’s teeming fans of quick return to winning ways after their 2-0 unfortunate loss to Bendel Insurance in the Nigeria Premier Football League clash on Saturday.
Insurance were the better sides in the encounter in terms of taking chances even with Rangers gaining more control with their mesmerizing display as goals from Junior Osaghae and Ismail Sarki handed Insurance the victory as the Flying Antelopes rued their missed chances coupled with some let off in defense.
Ilechukwu reflected on the defeat, stressing that it was avoidable going by the club’s preparation for the encounter but some mistakes from his backline.
“Football has come to show that no team is a small team. We came to Benin with full optimism to get an excellent result but we failed to achieve our set targets,” the former Plateau United coach told media.
“We lost and returned home to prepare for our next match and others for a winning return. It has been a challenging season but we are working hard to ensure that we rediscover our winning formula quickly.”
Rangers remained ninth on the NPFL log with 22 points from 16 matches and will next engage Gombe United in Enugu next Sunday.
