Finidi George expressed satisfaction with Rivers United’s 1-1 draw against El Kanemi Warriors, highlighting the team’s resilience after coming back from a goal down.

George praised the tactical approach of the Borno giants, which pushed his players to elevate their performance.

“It was not a bad game in general,” he stated, reflecting on the match that saw his team come back from a goal down.

He acknowledged the tactical prowess of the Borno giants, which pushed Rivers United to raise their performance level.

“They came, played counter, and they got that goal. From that moment, we had to step up to see how we could get that equalizer.”

In the second half, Rivers United had a numerical advantage but struggled to find the winning goal.

Finidi noted, “I felt we should have been a little more patient… We could have kept the ball a little bit more to combine in that last third.”

He added that his players showed signs of nervousness, which affected their scoring chances: “When you have that nervousness, to score a goal sometimes may not happen.”
