Remo Stars assistant coach Sulaiman Folarin has attributed his side’s defeat to Nasarawa United to missed chances and a lack of luck, following their 2–1 loss in Wednesday’s rescheduled Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 9 fixture.
The reigning NPFL champions fell to the Solid Miners at the Lafia Township Stadium despite creating several scoring opportunities.
Folarin admitted the encounter was tough but praised his players’ effort, maintaining that the club’s ambition to retain the league title remains unchanged.
“It was a difficult day for us here, but it wasn’t a bad game altogether because both sides did their best,” Folarin said after the match.
“However, mother luck smiled on Nasarawa United, and they took their chances. We were unlucky — we missed many goal-scoring opportunities — but we’ll return to base to correct those grey areas. Our target remains to defend the league title.”
Remo Stars will look to bounce back in their next league outing as they continue their pursuit of back-to-back NPFL championships.
