NPFL: Gbenga Ogunbote blames 3SC carelessness for loss at Enyimba
By Saheed Afolabi
Shooting Stars head coach, Gbenga Ogunbote has blamed his players carelessness on the club’s loss to Enyimba in Aba.
3SC bottled the second leg in Aba as Enyimba came out victorious with a lone goal victory.
Ogunbote said he has taken the positives from the game but believes his side deserved a point despite the loss.
He stated the goal conceded came from a careless situation that could have been avoided while picking up their pieces from the encounter.
The gaffer is optimistic the mistakes made won’t be repeated as the Oluyole Warriors still have 18 games to play in the second stanza to wright their wrongs.
“The game has been won and lost, we will take the positives. Be it as it may, sometimes, you give it your all but you don’t get the desired result, at worse, we deserve a point from this game,” Ogunbote was quoted by Shooting Stars.
“We were careless with the goal we conceded today, it’s a situation we could have avoided.
“Sometimes, it happens like that in the game. We will go back home, pick up the pieces and let’s see what happens.
“This is the first game, we still have about 18 games in the second stanza, all we need to do is to see what we needed to do that we didn’t do right in this game, and once we get that done, I’m sure we will get it right.”
Shooting Stars are on 26 points from 20 matches and will travel to face Plateau United in Jos on Sunday, February 25.
