NPFL: Heartland rues ‘painful’ loss to Katsina United

By Wale Mustapha
Heartland FC has expressed their disappointment following a 1-0 defeat to Katsina United in Matchday 23 of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) on Saturday.
Muhammad Ibrahim’s solitary goal secured all three points for the Chanji Boys at the Mohammed Dikko Stadium in Katsina, ending Heartland’s four-match unbeaten streak in the league.
The Owerri-based side has, however, quickly shifted their focus to their upcoming clash against Shooting Stars in their next league match.
“It was a painful loss in Katsina. We will make the long trip back home to prepare for Shooting Stars,” Heartland posted on their official X handle.
The defeat left Heartland in 11th place on the league table with 29 points, as they look to bounce back in their next outing.
