NPFL: IMC rebrand a new name as premiership league commences

As the brand new premiership league begins,The Interim Administration Committee (IMC) has adopted a brand new title for the Nigerian League.

The premiership league will now be referred to as the Nigeria Premier Soccer League, a departure from the previous Nigeria Skilled Soccer League.

The previous title was adopted by the moribund League Administration Firm (LMC) forward of the 2012/13 season.

The Nigerian high flight had at totally different occasions been referred to as the Nigerian Premier League, Nigerian Premiership, Nigerian Skilled League, Nigerian Nationwide League- First Division and the Nigerian Soccer League.

In the meantime, former champions, Akwa United will host Bendel Insurance coverage within the opening fixture of the 202/23 NPFL season on Sunday.
