By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde
The Interim Management Committee (IMC) has sanctioned Nigeria Premier Football League side Shooting Stars after team’s camp commandant Auwal Mohammed was spotted urinating on the pitch.
3SC camp commandant Mohammed was spotted urinating on the playing pitch of Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan, ahead of the team’s 2-2 draw with Akwa United last Sunday.
In a letter signed by IMC’s Head of Operation, Davison Owumi, a fine of five hundred thousand Naira has been slammed on the Ibadan-based side for the act by Auwal which brought the game into disrepute and for the club failing to control the conduct of its official.
The IMC also issued an order suspending Auwal from all NPFL-related activities for one year as well as a warning to Shooting to take appropriate measures to prevent the occurrence of a similar incident in the future.
The misconduct was in breach of Rule C1.1 of the frameworks and rules of the Nigeria Premier Football League.
The Sunday encounter ended in a 2-2 draw as 3SC ended the first stanza of the season in seventh position in Group B of the 2022/2023 NPFL log with 10 points after nine games.
