NPFL: Kano Pillars edge Insurance as Lobi moves above drop zone with win over Abia

Kano Pillars had to rely on a late goal to defeat Bendel Insurance 1-0 to move up the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) log after victory at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City on Saturday.
Ageless Rabiu Ali converted the winning goal for Sai Masu Gida in the additional minutes of the second half.
The win lifted the Kano-based side to fourth position with 17 points after 11 games.
Bendel Insurance occupies the 14th position with 12 points on the log.
Meanwhile, a brace from Segun Oloruntoba lifted Lobi Stars to a 3-1 victory against Abia Warriors despite Sunday Megwo’s strike for the visitors.
Lobi Stars moved above the drop zone to the 16 position with 12 points while Abia Warriors occupy the ninth position with 14 points.
There are eight more games to complete Matchday 11 of the NPFL on Sunday.
Top on the bill is El-Kanemi Warriors, taking their 10-match unbeaten run to Ibadan against Shooting Stars Sports Club.
