NPFL: Tunde Sanni calls Kwara United win at Nasarawa United a reward for hard work
By Wale Mustapha
Tunde Sanni, Technical Adviser of Kwara United, has described his team’s hard-fought 1-0 victory over Nasarawa United on Sunday as a well-deserved reward for their resilience and commitment.
The Harmony Boys stunned their hosts in the North Central region with a narrow win in one of the Matchday 11 fixtures of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), held at the Lafia Township Stadium.
Emmanuel Ogbole, a former Solid Miners’ forward, scored the only goal of the match just two minutes into the second half, sealing the important away victory for Kwara United.
Sanni praised his players for staying focused throughout the game, adding that the scoreline could have been more convincing had they converted more of their scoring chances.
“It didn’t come as a surprise; we’ve been putting in the work, and this is compensation from God,” Sanni said in a post-match interview.
“We deserved more away wins, and although we missed several chances today, we’re thankful for the victory. We’ll continue to work hard to maintain the momentum.”
The win has lifted Kwara United to 11th place on the NPFL table with 14 points from 11 games.
