Insurance FC head coach Kennedy Boboye has expressed optimism that his team will soon overcome their disappointing start to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, NigeriaFootballNG reports.
The Benin Arsenals have endured a difficult campaign so far, recording just one win from their opening ten matches. Boboye, who replaced former coach Greg Ikhenoba last month, is still seeking his first victory in charge after overseeing two consecutive draws.
Reflecting on the team’s latest outing — a 1–1 draw against Warri Wolves in Benin — the former Plateau United and Akwa United tactician admitted that his players failed to make the most of their opportunities but backed them to improve in coming fixtures.
“We just need to keep pushing until we get it right, and I believe we will,” Boboye said after the match. “If we had taken our chances, we wouldn’t be complaining about penalty calls.”
The coach also acknowledged the club’s current limitations, emphasizing the need to maximize available resources until the transfer window opens.
“There is nothing we can do now until mid-season, but we just have to encourage what we have on the ground,” he added.
Insurance currently sit 19th on the NPFL table with eight points and will face Rivers United in their next league fixture as they look to kickstart their season under Boboye’s leadership.
