NPFL MD 28 wrap: Kwara, Enyimba, Plateau record victories amidst stalemates

Four out of six Matchday 28 of the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 28 games ended in draws on Sunday.

Heartland FC and Bayelsa United played out a 1-1 draw as Surajo Lawal canceled out Issa Yusuf’s opener for the latter.

In similar vein, Ten man Sunshine Stars forced Nasarawa United to a 1-1 draw in Lafia.

Idris Ajiya broke the deadlock for the host in the fifth minute before Ahmadu Liman’s leveler for the Akure Gunners.

In Enugu, Rangers International FC and Akwa United also settled for a 1-1 draw.

Kabir Osoba opened scoring for the Promise Keepers in the 24th minute while Saviour Isaac equalised from the spot three minutes into the second period.

In Ilorin, goals from Wasiu Alalade and Wasiu Jimoh lifted Kwara United to a 2-0 success against Kano Pillars.

Enyimba pipped El Kanemi Warriors 1-0 in Aba thanks to Joseph Atule’s solitary goal.

Finally, Plateau United edged Abia Warriors 1-0 as Olawale Doyeni’s goal separated both sides.
