NPFL MD13 Wrap: Remo hold Shooting in South West battle of the Stars in Ibadan

Remo Stars forced Shooting Stars to a 1-1 draw in a Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) encounter on Sunday at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan.
Ghanaian import, Desmond Agbekpormo’s shot outside the box from Opeoluwa Olufemi’s assist hit the top left corner in the 10th minute to give the host a deserved lead.
Substitute, Aniekeme Okon who was introduced by Daniel Ogunmodede in the second half equalised for the Sky Blue Stars. Okon headed in Ismail Sodiq’s cross from the right wing in the 69th minute.
The draw ensured that Ogunmodede’s side are yet to taste an NPFL defeat against its South West neighbours after six games with two wins and four draws.
In Aba, Enyimba recorded a 2-1 win over Plateau United to maintain its third position in Group A.
Imoh Obot and Emeka Obioma scored for the People’s Elephant while Izuchukwu Chimezie pulled a goal back for the visitors.
Nasarawa United hold Akwa United to a 2-2 draw in Uyo. Effort of Cyril Olisemha and Victor Collins’ own had given the host a 2-1 advantage but goals from Victor Collins and Anas Yusuf’s 88th-minute equaliser forced a draw.
At the Pantami Stadium, Gombe, Anayor Ogbonna’s 10th-minute goal handed Gombe United a 1-0 win over El-kanemi Warriors.
Goals from Umar Abba and Joseph Atule propelled Lobi Stars to a 2-0 win against Abia Warriors in Makurdi.
Niger Tornadoes and Rivers United settled for a goalless draw at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna.
In Akure, Rangers International forced Sunshine Stars to a 1-1 draw at the Akure Township Stadium.
Yusuf Ibrahim’s goal for the host in the 14th minute was canceled out by Chiediebere Nwobodo in the 28th minute.
Bayelsa United edged Wikki Tourist 2-1 in Bauchi as Robert Mizo and Wisdom Ikechi Stephen gave the visitors a triumph despite after Chibundu Amah’s opening goal for the hosts.
Earlier on Saturday, Bendel Insurance forced Kwara United to a 1-1 draw in Benin City while Dakkada FC pipped Doma United 1-0.
Overall, Insurance tops Group A with 27 points ahead of Akwa United (23 points), Enyimba (21 points), Remo Stars (19 points), Plateau United (18 points), Gombe United (17 points), Shooting Stars (17 points), Kwara United (13 points), Nasarawa United (9 points), and El-Kanemi Warriors (8 points).
Lobi Stars maintained its leadership position in Group B with 23 points ahead of Rivers United (20 points), Niger Tornadoes (19 points), Doma United (19 points), Sunshine Stars (18 points), Abia Warriors (18 points), Bayelsa United (15 points), Rangers (14 points), Wikki Tourists (12 points), and Dakkada FC (11 points).
