NPFL: Niger Tornadoes will not to relent on NPFL Super Six quest – Abubakar Bala
By Saheed Afolabi
Niger Tornadoes gaffer, Abubakar Bala has vowed that the club won’t relent in their pursuit for a spot in the Nigeria Premier Football League Super Six this season after a 2-2 draw with Rangers International in Enugu.
The Ikon Allah Boys made a stunning comeback in the second half thanks to Munir Idris’ brace to cancel out the first half strikes from Chidiebere Nwobodo and Kenneth Obinna Igboke and forced a draw against the Flying Antelopes.
Following the positive result in Akwa, the tactician believes the away point will boost their ambition.
“Of course a point is a plus, especially coming on the road,” Bala told media.
“It’s a plus because our ambition for the season is to be among the qualifiers for the Super Six.
“We will not relax and will not relent, we will keep pushing until we achieve our aim.”
The Ikon Allah Boys occupy the fifth position in the NPFL group B with 20 points from 14 matches as they trail table toppers Lobi Stars with six points and are two points adrift of a place in the playoffs zone.
Niger Tornadoes will play host to Abia Warriors at the Bako Kontagora stadium, Minna on the 23rd of April.
