NPFL: Paul Offor dismisses biased officiating claim in Bendel Insurance triumph

By Saheed Afolabi
Head coach of Sporting Lagos, Paul Offor has dismissed the allegations of a biased officiating from match officials against Bendel Insurance on Sunday.
The Noisy Lagosians got back to form to win two matches on the row including the 1-0 victory over the Benin Arsenal at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos.
In his reactions to poor officiating claims of Bendel Insurance, Monday Odigie, Offor jumped to the defence of the match officials, stressing that football is a contact sport and some decisions didn’t go their way as well.
“It’s a contact sport, we conceded a lot of fouls from them also. They fouled us a lot too. Sometimes it happens in football,” Offor told the Press.
“A game of this magnitude you don’t expect players to come and not have contact. I don’t think the referees did bad today.”
The Noisy Lagosians seat three points above the relegation waters on the 13th position and will face Gombe United on Sunday, February 25.
