Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) club Plateau United are on the verge of appointing Aliyu Zubairu as their new Technical Adviser, according to NigeriaFootball.ng.
The Peace Boys are restructuring their technical setup following a below-par 2024/2025 season, in which they finished seventh on the league table with 54 points.
Zubairu, who recently parted ways with El-Kanemi Warriors after the expiration of his two-year contract, is expected to take over from Magnut Mbwas, who has held the role for the past two seasons.
The 43-year-old tactician also serves as head coach of Nigeria’s U-20 national team, the Flying Eagles, and is understood to be keen on embracing a fresh club-level challenge.
In addition to the coaching change, Plateau United are reportedly seeking a new General Manager to replace Habila Mutla as part of broader organizational changes.
The club is expected to make a formal announcement in the coming days.
